Processor

The engine that makes it all go, the processor determines the speed at which your system runs programs, loads pages and downloads files. The more powerful and updated your processor, the faster your PC's overall performance.

The Surface Laptop for Business (7th Edition) and Surface Pro for Business (11th Edition) are available with your choice between two powerful Snapdragon X Series Processors: Snapdragon X Elite or Snapdragon X Plus. Both offer fast performance, all-day battery life and advanced AI features with a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) delivering 45 trillion operations per second (TOPS). The Snapdragon X Elite has a 12-core CPU for lightning-fast speed and extended battery life, ideal for heavy workloads. The Snapdragon X Plus, with its 10-core CPU, provides strong performance and great battery life at a fantastic value.

NPU 

The Neural Processing Unit (NPU) makes your laptop not just faster, but smarter, unlocking new levels of AI processing. The power of an NPU can be measured in trillions of operations per second (TOPS). Higher TOPS means the NPU can handle heavier, more robust AI workloads, so that your experiences run smoother and faster. The Snapdragon X Series Processors have 45 TOPS, to handle powerful AI workloads.

RAM

RAM (Random Access Memory) temporarily stores and remembers data from your OS, apps and programs, delivering quick access to information when needed. More RAM means faster overall performance with the ability to run more apps, programs and files simultaneously. Copilot+ PCs have a minimum of 16GB RAM and range up to 64GB RAM for fast multitasking and responsive performance across applications.

Storage

Storage refers to the amount of data your device can hold, including applications, documents, photos and videos. A 256GB is good for email and productivity apps and other basic functions. Between 512GB and 1TB is good for most photo, music and video files, as well as word processing and spreadsheet creation. For Copilot+ PCs, the larger the storage capacity, the more snapshots of your screen can be stored for a more enriched and extended usage experience of the Recall feature (coming soon).
