A seamless customer experience is crucial in retail. Today, retail stores are full of diverse technologies waiting for consumers to access them. Most often, these are kiosk and digital signage experiences that we all know well. On the other end, customers have their own mobile devices where they look for brand presence. You might have already noticed a disconnect between the two.

At XOMNI, we know that retailers and digital agencies are working hard to solve this issue. This is not only a customer experience problem, but a fundamental technology integration and implementation problem.

Enter: Omni-Discovery and Omni-Play

We believe it’s important to provide you, the retailer a facility to help your customers discover and find the unique experiences you’ve built for them. In addition, facilitate a smooth transition from their mobile phone to the in-store experience itself.

Omni-Discovery helps your customer pinpoint devices and experiences in-store. Customers can find devices by their location, device type, and even device ability. If a customer wants to check out an item, we locate a pay station or POS enabled Kiosk. If a customer wants to watch a 4K video, Omni-Discovery serves up 4K devices that are available.

Once Omni-Discovery selects an available target device, Omni-Play takes over the process. Omni-Play transitions a customer’s presence from one device to another. This helps a customer use an in-store experience via effortless device transitions. A customer coming into a store can move his/her presence, wish list, shopping cart, comparisons and product details such as rich video content to an in-store experience and back to their mobile device as desired.

To illustrate, imagine a wish-list on your mobile phone. You discover the nearest store and walk in. Now, you need to see the local store’s inventory and availability. You discover a list of devices that can help you and choose a multi touch gesture based kiosk. Using the kiosk experience you can navigate through an endless-isle catalog, get recommendations, promotions, etc. If you haven’t made a purchase decision, you can pull back your updated wish-list to your own device and take it with you. If you are ready to buy, you can discover a device with POS capability and check out. Omni-Play will manage your presence across all devices appropriate to your needs. What’s more, the technology is easy to implement and designed to scale.

This is just a warm up tour of what you can expect to do with XOMNI. Come learn more at NRF 2015! Microsoft Booth #2803.
