NAB Show highlights: Where content comes together
It’s hard to believe another NAB is behind us. The show floor was buzzing with cloud and over-the-top (OTT) interest, and in this blog I want to take a moment to reflect on a couple of amazing partner applications demonstrated in our booth this year. Besides great announcements and demos by our Azure Media Services and Skype teams, we had more than 50 partner/customer presentations in our theater (all available on demand with Azure Media Services, of course) and some fantastic demos by more than ten partners in the booth – here is some detail on two of them.
Wildmoka, a partner based in the south of France, was showing Moments Share, a new feature that allows OTT viewers to directly tweet a clip from a video they are viewing. Embedded in the tweet is a link that the recipient can click on to view the clip and, if desired, take them directly into the program at the point of the clip. This was generating great interest amongst several broadcasters looking to utilize it in upcoming campaigns. If you want an example of Wildmoka’s work for Canal+ go to http://bref30ans.canalplus.fr.
Another partner, X-ART showed their X.news application which aggregates news and critical social feeds around topics and areas of interest into a single screen feed such as news wires, twitter, Reuters, AP, Getty, blogs, etc. They had more than 40 companies inquiring with them on the stand – half of whom they hadn’t met before, and were busy with customers up to the 2pm closing on the final day.
I am glad to say this was a great success for our partners – I will follow this up with a couple of other partner highlights in the coming week!
