Patrick gets a new pair of shoes, but doesn’t know how to tie his laces. When SpongeBob offers to demonstrate lace tying to Patrick, he forgets how to do. SpongeBob suffers various calamities, trying to make it through his day with his laces untied and him tripping over everything. In the end, it’s Gary who reminds SpongeBob how to tie his laces by teaching him a groovy song to help him remember./Mr. Krabs takes the day off from the Krusty Krab and puts Squid in charge for the day. Squid seizes the opportunity to take the day off as well and he leaves SpongeBob alone to man the store. However, at home, Squidward continues to imagine the calamities that might happen if SpongeBob was left to his own devices, and it drives him crazy. He repeatedly rushes back to the Krusty Krab to check up on things only to find an innocent SpongeBob ready for work. In the end, Squidward decides it’s just easier to stay there and work.

SpongeBob eats some sea onion ice cream and his breath stinks. When people avoid him, Patrick offers, "Maybe it's because you're ugly." Together, they devise various ways to hide SpongeBob’s hideous face. When Patrick eats some sea onion bon- bons and people avoid him, too, he becomes convinced that he has caught "the ugly” from SpongeBob. Together, they try to rid themselves of this horrible curse./When Mr. Krabs gives his daughter Pearl a job at the Krusty Krab, she starts to make some big changes in the menu and atmosphere. SpongeBob is threatened by the changes, and doesn’t like the new “management”. After a bit, he gets used to it. It turns out that Mr. Krabs hates all the changes, but he doesn’t have the heart to fire his own daughter. Mr. Krabs commands SpongeBob to fire Pearl for him, but SpongeBob really doesn’t want to. Mr. Krabs gives him an ultimatum, fire Pearl or he’s fired from the greatest job he’s ever had.

Patrick feels like he hasn't accomplished anything with his life and he decides to take Spongebob on as his role model. At first, Spongebob is flattered, but soon Patrick takes the idea too far and begins to take over Spongebob's life and identity./Patrick's out of town and Spongebob feels lonely so he blows a bubble to keep him company. As he walks around town talking to his new "companion", people become worried and decide to stage an intervention.

SpongeBob doesn't know why he's being so nice but he's thrilled to spend the day with Squidward and he makes him do all sorts of fun activities with him./Plankton schemes to steal the Krabby patty by disguising himself as Mr. Krabs. SpongeBob is torn in two as both "Mr. Krabs" give him conflicting orders all day long and he is going crazy trying to please them both.

Sandy goes out of town for a few days and puts SpongeBob and Patrick in charge of her pet caterpillar. When the caterpillar turns into a butterfly overnight, SpongeBob and Patrick become convinced that the butterfly actually ate the caterpillar and now it's after them./Mr. Krabs needs a new sales gimmick for the Krusty Krab, but nothing seems to work. He scoffs at SpongeBob's idea for colored Krabby Patties. When SpongeBob tests his idea out for himself, colored patties become all the rage in Bikini Bottom.

Nobody in Bikini Bottom has ever heard of Christmas or Santa Claus until Sandy lets them in on this surface tradition. SpongeBob wants to bring Christmas to Bikini Bottom this year and his enthusiasm is infectious. Everyone gets into the spirit, waiting for Santa to arrive on the big day. Everyone except Squidward, who has scoffed at SpongeBob the whole while. When Santa is a no-show on Christmas morning, everyone blames SpongeBob for getting their hopes up.

Sandy is going into hibernation in one week and she wants to pack a million activities for her and SpongeBob to do together in that short time. SpongeBob is game and he starts off strong, but he can't keep up with the adrenaline junkie Sandy. He doesn't want to hurt her feelings by telling her "No" so instead he just hides. When Sandy can't find him, she recruits the rest of Bikini Bottom to go on a massive "Sponge-hunt" to find him./Mr. Krabs tells SpongeBob and Patrick that it's okay to borrow things as long as you put them back. So SpongeBob and Patrick borrow a balloon from the Bargain Mart and they accidentally pop it. They realize that they can't return it, so they are now criminals. Fearing a life in jail, SpongeBob and Patrick go on a run from the law, but soon they become suspicious of one another and accuse the other one of being the real criminal.
Grandma's Kisses/Squidville

When SpongeBob's Grammaw gives him a kiss in public, the guys at work tease him about being a little baby. Embarrassed and humiliated, SpongeBob and Pat resolve to become more adult and to tell Grammaw that she can't kiss him anymore. But when they get there, Patrick caves completely and laps up all of Grammaw's affection. Spongebob is jealous and tries desperately to get Grammaw to kiss him again, but she refuses, claiming Spongebob is too adult now for kisses. SpongeBob ends up regressing completely and finally cops to the fact that he loves her kisses and will never be embarrassed about them again./Squidward is so sick and tired of living between SpongeBob and Patrick that he decides to leave Bikini Bottom and go someplace where everyone is just like him. Squidward arrives and he loves it at first, but he soon discovers how boring he is and how uninteresting his life is without the constant mayhem that SpongeBob and Patrick provide. Squidward slowly goes crazy from the monotony of living with his boring self, starts acting more and more like SpongeBob and in the end, runs back home to Bikini Bottom.

While Sandy is hibernating for the winter, SpongeBob and Patrick are fascinated by the snow they see inside the Treedome and want to play in it. When they try to sneak inside, Sandy warns them in a pre-taped video not to disturb a mammal when she’s hibernating. SpongeBob and Patrick, of course, ignore the warning, play in the snow, wake up Sandy and then have to contend with the sleepwalking and sleeptalking savage beast she's become./Gary starts following Patrick around and SpongeBob can’t figure out why. Slowly he grows more and more jealous and becomes determined to win Gary back. Patrick thinks SpongeBob should just accept that Gary’s with him now and move on with his life.

SpongeBob attempts and fails his driving test again. A ragged and fed up Ms. Puff wants him out of her classroom so she makes up some bogus extra credit for him so he can pass the test. This all backfires on Ms. Puff and the only way she can stop SpongeBob from menacing Bikini Bottom's roadways is to steal SpongeBob's boat so he can't drive it./When SpongeBob and Pat go to a jellyfishing convention, SpongeBob tries to join an exclusive, elitist jellyfishing club. Secretly, the club president thinks SpongeBob is not worthy, but for his own amusement he makes Spongebob pass a series of grueling tests in order to join the club.

When Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy go away for the weekend, they ask SpongeBob and Patrick to house sit for them. Inside the house, they discover the evil super villain, Man-Ray frozen in a tank. SpongeBob can't help but unfreeze him and he cons them into setting him free by convincing them that they have re-habilitated him. SpongeBob becomes an overnight stand up comedy sensation when he starts telling derogatory jokes about squirrels. At first, Sandy is a good sport about it, but soon people start treating her as if she really was stupid and smelly.

Sandy and SpongeBob get into a fierce competition doing extreme underwater sports. The longer they compete, the more people they attract and soon SpongeBob has a small following who cheer him on as their underwater mascot and poo poo Sandy because she is a “land lubber.”/SpongeBob and Patrick visit the zoo and SpongeBob innocently tosses a peanut at an oyster in order to rouse it. The oyster goes crazy and suddenly the authorities demand to know what could have caused this. SpongeBob panics and denies that he knows anything about it. The dismayed oyster continues to cry, disturbing all of Bikini Bottom and everyone, including Patrick, becomes obsessed with making sure that whoever tossed that peanut is punished.

An anchor gets lodged into Squidward's window and SpongeBob, Pat and Squidward climb the rope to see who is responsible. They discover it's The Flying Dutchman's ship who puts them to work as crew members on his ship for the rest of their lives (except for Squidward who he throws overboard because he's so annoying)./It's time to give Gary a bath, but he doesn't want to take one. SpongeBob tries to lure Gary into the tub but he refuses to go. In the end, Gary outsmarts SpongeBob by luring him outside. SpongeBob falls in the mud and ends up even dirtier than Gary ever was.

Mr. Krabs loses SpongeBob's fry cook contract in a bet with Plankton and SpongeBob is forced to go work at the Chum Bucket. While there, SpongeBob is so homesick that he can't even fry up a single patty. At a loss, Plankton tries to comfort SpongeBob by showering him with gifts and attention. So much so, that SpongeBob soon acts like a spoiled teenager. Plankton can't take it and ends up begging Mr. Krabs to take SpongeBob back. When SpongeBob and Patrick discover a pencil from the surface they begin to draw with it. Everything they draw, comes to life! Soon, they begin to do small, lame pranks on the neighbors, the last of which is a crude, rough sketch of SpongeBob they call "SpongeDoodle". SpongeDoodle quickly escapes and starts pranking all of SpongeBob's friends.

Patrick has a secret box and won’t show SpongeBob what’s inside. SpongeBob can’t believe that Patrick would keep something from him and pretends not to care, but secretly, it’s driving him crazy./Squidward's old High School rival comes to town and brags about his famous marching band. Feeling outdone, Squidward lies and says he has a band, too. Squillaim is thrilled because he has double booked his band and asks Squidward if his band could play at the famous Bubble Bowl in his place. Squidward agrees and then tries desperately to pull a band together with SpongeBob, Patrick, Sandy, Plankton and Mr. Krabs.
Graveyard Shift/Krusty Love

In order to increase profits, Mr. Krabs decides that the Krusty Krab will now be open 24 hours a day. He orders SpongeBob and Squidward to work all night - what's known as the Graveyard Shift. At first Spongebob is scared so Squidward taunts him by telling a scary tale about the "Hash Slinging Slasher." Soon, their paranoia gets the best of them and they become convinced someone is stalking them, waiting to kill them./Ms. Puff pays a visit to the Krusty Krab and Mr. Krabs is instantly smitten with her. He recruits SpongeBob to help him woo Ms. Puff. SpongeBob tries to play match maker, but he messes it all up and risks losing his job over it.

SpongeBob must write an 800 word essay before the next morning for boating school. He starts to write it, but gets distracted and can’t keep his mind on his work. Exhausted and delirious, he imagines his pants talking to him and mocking him./When Patrick's parents come over for Starfish Day, Patrick gets upset that they still don’t think he is very smart. SpongeBob offers to act stupid in front of Patrick's parents in order to make Patrick look smarter, but their plan backfires when Patrick forgets that SpongeBob is acting and believes SpongeBob is actually stupid.

SpongeBob reads a “bad” word off the dumpster behind the Krusty Krabs and he doesn’t know what it means. He asks Patrick who explains to him that it’s a fancy word and both of them start using it in every sentence they can./When eager SpongeBob enrolls in Squidward's community art class, arrogant Squidward attempts to teach SpongeBob strictly by the book. However, time after time, SpongeBob's assignments point to the fact that student SpongeBob is a creative genius while teacher Squidward is a talentless buffoon.

When money hungry Mr. Krabs discovers that customers love SpongeBob's special jellyfish jelly Krabby Patty, he convinces SpongeBob to bring him as many of the jellyfish as he can. SpongeBob easily brings in herds of the gentle creatures and empties the entire jellyfish field, with the exception of his favorite one, Ol' Buzzy. However, Ol' Buzzy isn't happy with SpongeBob's lack of respect for the jellyfish fields, and hunts after SpongeBob to reveal to him the horrible conditions under which Mr. Krabs is keeping all the jellyfish./Krabs enters SpongeBob in the athletic competition - the Fry Cook Games. SpongeBob is thrilled and starts to train hard. When Patrick wants to train as well, SpongeBob tells him you have to be a fry cook to compete. So, Patrick gets a job at the Chum Bucket and trains to compete against SpongeBob.
Squid on Strike/Sandy, SpongeBob, and the Worm

Believing Mr. Krab is taking advantage, Squidward convinces naive SpongeBob to join with him and threaten Mr. Krabs with a strike. When Mr. Krabs fires them both, a frustrated Squidward tries to teach SpongeBob the art of picketing, but business only gets better for Mr. Krabs, and Squid is forced to make a stump speech about how they will "destroy the establishment."/ A large worm is terrorizing Bikini Bottom and SpongeBob is terrified of it. Sandy thinks SpongeBob is chicken and drags him out into the wilderness to take the worm on. When they finally see the worm, it turns out SpongeBob was right - it's ferocious.
