Future of Health with the Cloud – KPMG’s Data Analytics solutions
KPMG offers a range of services and products that enable local government and healthcare organisations to work together in improving the health and well-being of our country. KPMG goals are closely aligned with Microsoft’s, especially in the field of data and analytics. Over the last twelve months we have worked closely together on a range of Audit, Cost Improvement and Care System Redesign projects. A common feature of all this work has been the need to diagnose issues, predicting clinical, operational and financial outcome to set budgets, monitor progress and demonstrate that outcomes have been achieved.
Taking advantage of the Cortana Analytics suite, Azure and the whole suite of cloud and mobile platforms and tools, KPMG and Microsoft have partnered to do this in the most cost-effective way.
The Solution
This methodology is called Quality Margin Improvement (QMI) for healthcare. It is a healthcare platform designed to address pressing analytics demands emerging from current NHS priorities including: Quality Margin Improvement, Placed Based Care and Strategic Transformation Planning. QMI is underpinned by analytics that predict admitting and discharge results, grip cash flow and budgets, model patient flow and identify blockages, assist with the more effective use of resources and allow the Trust to demonstrate the accurate scale and complexity (and therefore true price) of activity.
Watch the video to see how KPMG analytics can help drive system reform:
KPMG’s cloud analytics platform enables analytics to be provided and digested in a friendly way. QMI is supported by a set of data collection templates, a cloud data warehouse, a set of proprietary KPMG algorithms that analyse your data and a set of digital dashboards that you can even use on your mobile phone, connecting the user with the answers to the questions that need to be answered, anywhere.
The key piece of this technology is PowerBI. The combination of analytics and a best-in-class approach to lean efficiency can help care providers improve their financial, safety and quality performance. Our dashboards provide a sharp focus on those issues that impact on operation excellence. We then show our approach to Care System Redesign across whole health economies battling to address sustainability and transformation challenges.
