Delight your fans with connected technology
Players like Mesut Özil and Alexis Sanchez have a lot of fans – millions of them, in fact. But for all the fans who can rattle off their career statistics, or who rush out to buy the same football boots they wear, only a tiny fraction of those fans have ever seen them play live. If you think about it, Arsenal FC has over 7 million followers on Twitter and 35 million Facebook likes, but their stadium holds just over 60,000 people. So on gameday, what do you do for the other 99.9% of fans who aren’t cheering on Arsenal from the stands?
It’s not just Arsenal. Any sport or sporting organisation with a fan base (from Arsenal to Zombie Racing) has to think about how they engage their fans. With the rise of social media, the ability to connect with fans is easier than ever. The flip-side of this, though, is the expectations of fans to connect is higher than ever also. Done right and fans in even the most remote locations can feel as though they’re intimately connected with your brand. Done wrong and… well you don’t have to look too far to see examples of social media sports fails.
So how can you engage with your entire fan base? The ones in the stadium and the ones around the globe? How can you leverage the latest in digital solutions to transform your relationship with your fans? You’ll hear real-world examples from a number of successful sporting organisations who have worked with Microsoft to rethink the way they engage with their fans.
