On Friday the 20th January, we held a webinar with Digital Health – hosts of the CCIO Leaders Network, and providers of independent, trusted, market-leading news on the UK health IT sector.

During the webinar, Stephen Docherty and Murat Soncul from South London and Maudsley (SLAM) presented their experience in successfully migrating 5,000 staff onto Office 365 platform. Together, they have transformed the IT landscape at the trust, digitising SLAM’s workforce, supporting them to adopt technology and creating an environment that is open to innovation.

During the webinar, they explained how cloud solutions such as Office 365, can help add more value to the Trust, allowing the IT team to spend time servicing the clinical teams (educating and teaching on the technology deployed) instead of managing the IT infrastructure. This brings significant increases in efficiency both in terms of direct server maintenance costs and in empowering care teams to be more mobile. By replacing 2000 devices SLAM enabled clinicians to spend more time in the field with patients without sacrificing connectivity to their email and other Office functions giving them the tools they needed to have a greater impact to do their job.
