These events all had multiple feature announcements and crossed referenced technologies to align usability and productivity, and there has been a lot of excitement throughout the technical communities.<\/p>\n<p>We had <a href=\"https:\/\/aka.ms\/TechNet\/GitHubUniverse\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GitHub Universe<\/a> at the end of October, which announced new tools to enhance productivity across IT teams. The event also introduced new and highly anticipated enterprise tooling that provides organisations with enhanced security and compliance requirements.<\/p>\n<p>Just after Ignite was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dotnetconf.net\/?WT.mc_id=modinfra-49886-apedward\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">.NET Conf 2021<\/a>, which didn&#8217;t focus on just application development, they were able to line up new feature releases in .NET 6 with the product releases announced at Ignite 2021, enhancing immediate support for the technical community.<\/p>\n<p>The event that we look forward to each year, Microsoft Ignite, took place in early November, and there was an immense amount of product announcements!<\/p>\n<p>Below is a list of some of the key announcements that targeted the IT Pro community:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/news.microsoft.com\/ignite-november-2021-book-of-news\/#a-142-new-azure-arc-releases\/?WT.mc_id=modinfra-49886-apedward\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Azure Arc enabled features<\/a> with Azure Stack HCI, VMware vSphere, and machine learning.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/news.microsoft.com\/ignite-november-2021-book-of-news\/#a-143-new-azure-virtual-desktop-features-including-support-for-azure-stack-hci\/?WT.mc_id=modinfra-49886-apedward\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Azure Virtual Desktop<\/a> supporting Azure Stack HCI.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/news.microsoft.com\/ignite-november-2021-book-of-news\/#a-144-new-updates-and-enhancements-for-windows-server-on-azure\/?WT.mc_id=modinfra-49886-apedward\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Azure Automanage<\/a> enhanced features for Windows Server and Linux VMs, including support for Azure Arc-enabled server VMs.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/news.microsoft.com\/ignite-november-2021-book-of-news\/#a-141-feature-update-and-new-tools-for-it-pros-in-azure-stack-hci\/?WT.mc_id=modinfra-49886-apedward\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Azure Stack HCI<\/a> has new features updates and tooling, as well as integration in many other services.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/news.microsoft.com\/ignite-november-2021-book-of-news\/#a-132-azure-container-apps-now-in-preview\/?WT.mc_id=modinfra-49886-apedward\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Azure Container Apps<\/a> is now in preview as a managed service, removing complex infrastructure.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/news.microsoft.com\/ignite-november-2021-book-of-news\/#a-125-sql-server-2022-now-in-preview\/?WT.mc_id=modinfra-49886-apedward\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SQL Server 2022<\/a> is now in preview!<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/news.microsoft.com\/ignite-november-2021-book-of-news\/#a-151-new-azure-virtual-machine-scale-sets\/?WT.mc_id=modinfra-49886-apedward\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Azure Virtual Machine Scale Sets<\/a> introduces a flexible orchestration mode.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/news.microsoft.com\/ignite-november-2021-book-of-news\/#a-152-new-azure-virtual-machines-for-better-price-performance\/?WT.mc_id=modinfra-49886-apedward\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Azure Virtual Machines<\/a> are now delivering better performance at a better price!<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/news.microsoft.com\/ignite-november-2021-book-of-news\/#a-153-several-updates-for-enhanced-support-and-capabilities-with-azure-monitor\/?WT.mc_id=modinfra-49886-apedward\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Azure Monitor<\/a> has announced greater capabilities with better integration into vendor-neutral instrumentation and enhanced troubleshooting for a better monitoring platform.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/news.microsoft.com\/ignite-november-2021-book-of-news\/#a-155-virtual-machines-selector-helps-customers-find-the-right-azure-virtual-machines\/?WT.mc_id=modinfra-49886-apedward\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Azure Virtual Machines Selector<\/a> is now generally available, helping customers find the proper performance and price for their VMs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can check out all the updates via the <a href=\"https:\/\/news.microsoft.com\/ignite-november-2021-book-of-news\/?WT.mc_id=modinfra-49886-apedward\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Microsoft Ignite Book of News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>PowerShell is also turning 15 years old!
