This mode supports individual learning needs and specific objectives, making practice more targeted and meaningful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To upload your own passage:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Select <strong>Add a passage<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter a title in the text field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Paste or type the passage into the text field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>Start reading<\/strong> to begin and select the red <strong>Stop reading<\/strong> button to end the recording.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>When students finish reading, the results page will appear and they can choose to read the passage again, read something else, or practice more challenging words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tip<\/strong>:<strong> <\/strong>Encourage students to keep a reading log with their reading materials or device to track their reading level and progress, helping them stay motivated and see their improvement over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"support-accessibility\">Support accessibility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/education\/learning-tools\/accessibility-tools\">Immersive Reader<\/a> is embedded in Reading Coach to support inclusive learning for all students. Choose one to practice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Break the word in syllables or listen to it being read aloud to hear the pronunciation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the microphone to practice reading the word aloud.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The word and star fill level will change based on improvement. Keep practicing until both turn green.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>Next word<\/strong> to practice the others.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>When all the words are correct, a pop-up will appear. These badges are visual symbols of success, such as reading with high accuracy or maintaining a consistent reading habit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Story elements<\/strong>: Each time a student spends 20 minutes reading with Reading Coach, they unlock a new character or story setting to use in AI-powered stories. They can choose to keep the unlocked element or swap it for another.
