We see a lot more to come.\u201d<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: right\">&#8211;Stevie Bathiche, Technical Fellow and leader of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/applied-sciences\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Applied Sciences<\/a>, Microsoft<\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">It\u2019s been an amazing year for Journal:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>New features like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/garage\/blog\/2021\/09\/journal-a-garage-project-adds-tactile-signal-support-for-a-more-natural-and-intuitive-writing-experience\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">support for tactile signal capable pens<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/garage\/blog\/2021\/03\/print-custom-ink-colors-and-more-features-come-to-garage-project-journal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">page styles<\/a>, and support for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/garage\/blog\/2021\/09\/garage-project-journal-makes-your-ink-more-powerful-with-improved-lasso-multi-select-support-for-different-languages-and-more\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">writing in multiple languages<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>More than 100,000 people have tried Journal and usage continues to grow every month.<\/li>\n<li>Major improvements to Journal&#8217;s AI, leading to a more accurate instant lasso and improved detection of stars and headings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Support for folders<\/h3>\n<p>To celebrate Journal\u2019s anniversary, the Journal team built one of the most frequently requested features: <strong>support for folders<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9576\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Journal-Folders-on-Home.png\" alt=\"Screenshot depicting Journal folders to stay organized, no matter how much you ink\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, you can organize your content in Journal by creating folders and dragging your journals right in. No more scrolling and scrolling to find the specific journal you need. This is important because Journal runs all its AI operations locally on your device. Journal feels snappier and more responsive, especially on lower powered devices.<\/p>\n<h3>The future of handwriting is digital<\/h3>\n<p>Over 3.1 million Journal pages have been created since Journal launched. On those pages, Journal\u2019s AI recognized 21 million instances of smart ink\u2014like headings, lists, and stars. This is evidence that people find value in augmented ink.<\/p>\n<p>This is something that paper just can\u2019t do.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h4>&#8220;Large organizations tell us that digital ink is key to their digital transformation.
