We look forward to sharing our leading-edge traffic management solutions with leaders focused on advancing the state of transportation in cities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Safer, more sustainable and accessible cities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Microsoft CityNext and NACTO are closely aligned in helping cities become safer, more sustainable and accessible, with equitable transportation choices that support a strong economy and vibrant quality of life. We\u2019re contributing to this mission by working with our transportation partners on an urban mobility strategy aimed at serving all citizens\u2014including those with disabilities. Examples include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Connected vehicles that provide predictive vehicle-maintenance alerts to avoid car breakdowns and related traffic congestion and pollution.<\/li>\n<li>Reducing distracted driving by integrating phone calls, emails and text messaging via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows\/cortana\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cortana&#8217;s<\/a> voice feature.<\/li>\n<li>Capabilities that deliver real-time road information to improve safety and vehicle performance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Join our \u201cWalkShop\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Microsoft will host a \u201cWalkShop\u201d\u2014essentially a field trip\u2014enabling NACTO attendees to tour our Chicago Technology Center and learn about some of the latest transportation innovations from three partners, including:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-472895 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/industry\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/amano-logo.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"245\" height=\"165\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amanomcgann.com\/Page\/Index\/Home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Amano McGann<\/a>: As world leaders in manufacturing and distributing hardware and software for the parking industry, Amano McGann has worked with Microsoft technologies since the early 1990s and uses <a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/?b=17.06\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Azure<\/a> as the cloud platform for its Symphony Analytics and Subscribe API service. They\u2019ll demonstrate technologies that help drivers quickly find parking places and rapidly exit garages, and discuss how they are <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.microsoft.com\/en-us\/articles\/industries\/citynext\/microsoft-cloud-revolutionizes-city-parking-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">revolutionizing parking management with the City of Sacramento<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-475791 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/industry\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/cubic-logo-2014-2x-slogan.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"73\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cubic.com\/Transportation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cubic Transportation Systems<\/a>: The magnetic ticketing pioneer and leading integrator of payment and information solutions for intelligent travel applications, Cubic will showcase its Azure-based <a href=\"https:\/\/nextbus.cubic.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NextBus<\/a> platform, which is designed to improve multimodal transit agency operations.
