This month, we introduced a number of new capabilities to help individuals produce accessible content, work together in real-time, and create a secure and compliant workplace.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a look at what we brought to Microsoft 365 in May.<\/p>\n<h3>Empowering creative teamwork<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Create accessible content in Office 365<\/strong>\u2014We <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/microsoft-365\/blog\/2018\/05\/16\/reimagine-accessibility-and-foster-inclusion-in-the-modern-workplace\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">enhanced the Accessibility Checker<\/a> to streamline the process of creating quality content that is accessible to people with disabilities. Now, the Accessibility Checker identifies an expanded range of issues within a document, including low-contrast text that is difficult to read because the font color is too similar to the background color. The checker also includes a recommended action menu and utilizes AI to make intelligent suggestions for improvements\u2014like suggesting a description for an image\u2014making it easier to fix flagged issues from within your workflow.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-230905 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/microsoft-365\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/05\/New-to-Microsoft-365-in-May-1.gif\" alt=\"GIF showing the Accessibility Checker being run from the Review tab in a Word document with black text on a grey background and an image of a forest. The inspection results now show no more accessibility issues. \" width=\"900\" height=\"622\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Accessibility Checker alerts you in real-time of issues that make your content difficult for people with disabilities to access.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Work in mixed reality with SharePoint<\/strong>\u2014This month, we <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/microsoft-365\/blog\/2018\/05\/21\/sharepoint-innovations-transform-content-collaboration-with-mixed-reality-and-ai\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">unveiled SharePoint spaces<\/a>\u2014immersive, mixed reality experiences built on SharePoint\u2014which enable you to interact with and explore content in new ways. Now, Microsoft 365 subscribers can work with 3D models, 360-degree videos, panoramic images, organizational charts, visualizations, and any information on your intranet to create immersive mixed reality experiences. SharePoint spaces make it easy to create virtual environments with point-and-click simplicity to help viewers digest information that might be too numerous or too complex to experience in the real world or in a two-dimensional environment.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Video Player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/videoplayer\/embed\/RE264JO\" class=\"c-video\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"960\" height=\"540\" allowfullscreen=\"true\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><em>Create immersive virtual environments in seconds with SharePoint spaces.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Find relevant content faster in SharePoint<\/strong>\u2014The new Find tab in the SharePoint mobile app makes it easier to access the information you need when looking for expertise, content, apps, or resources on the go. The Find tab uses AI to automatically surface sites, files, news, and people relevant to you without having to search\u2014including documents and sites that you were recently working on from across your devices. Today, we\u2019re announcing <a href=\"https:\/\/techcommunity.microsoft.com\/t5\/Microsoft-Teams-Blog\/Join-a-Call-or-Meeting-with-Microsoft-Teams-Mobile-App\/ba-p\/199396\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">new capabilities<\/a> for mobile users that make it easier to participate in meetings on the go. Now, you can quickly share your screen with others in the meeting directly from your mobile device, or upload images and video from your library. These improvements make everyone a first-class meeting participant\u2014regardless of location or device.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Video Player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/videoplayer\/embed\/RE2c1sM\" class=\"c-video\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"960\" height=\"540\" allowfullscreen=\"true\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=kPeW1ssd2T0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Source video<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Extend meeting capabilities with Surface Hub 2<\/strong>\u2014Earlier this month, we <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.windows.com\/devices\/2018\/05\/15\/meet-surface-hub-2\/#x2ej5LDAj8yUXqAp.97\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">introduced Surface Hub 2<\/a>, a device built from the ground up to be used by teams in any organization. Surface Hub 2 integrates Teams, Microsoft Whiteboard, Office 365, Windows 10, and the intelligent cloud into a seamless collaboration experience, which extends the capabilities of any meeting space and allows users to create\u2014whether in the same room or separated by thousands of miles.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Video Player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/videoplayer\/embed\/RE2clwt\" class=\"c-video\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"960\" height=\"540\" allowfullscreen=\"true\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3>Creating a secure and compliant workplace<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Achieve GDPR compliance with the Microsoft Cloud<\/strong>\u2014This month marked a major milestone for individual privacy rights with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that took effect on May 25, 2018. Over the last few months, we introduced new capabilities across the Microsoft Cloud to help you effectively demonstrate that your organization has taken appropriate steps to protect the privacy rights of individuals. B2B collaboration allows administrators to share access to internal resources and applications with external partners while maintaining complete control over their own corporate data.
