Taxonomy) from SharePoint Lists<\/h2>\n<p>Managed Metadata is a powerful column type inside SharePoint Lists. It allows you to define a &#8220;Taxonomy&#8221; of possible values that can even be hierarchical &#8211; these are defined centrally and can be reused across lists. This is what a Taxonomy field would look like inside of the modern SharePoint list UI:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/power-platform\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/managed-metadata-tago-spo.png\" style=\"width: 372px; height: 376px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Starting this week, you can now read the data that is in these columns. You will get a few different properties for each Taxonomy column:\u00a0<strong>Label<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Path<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>TermGuid<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Value<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>WssId<\/strong>. If you are displaying the result of the field, such as in an email, you&#8217;ll likely want to use the Label property. On the other hand, if you want the unique identifier of the item, use the Value field.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/power-platform\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/managed-metadata-tago-outputs.png\" style=\"width: 430px; height: 227px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>In addition to reading data from the column, you can also create or update rows and set these values. When creating a record, in the Flow designer you get a dropdown of possible values from the Taxonomy:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/power-platform\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/managed-metadata-tago-dropdown.png\" style=\"width: 312px; height: 100px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>This allows you to select a particular value to always use when the item is created. On the other hand, you can also choose to use the output from another item by selecting the\u00a0<strong>Value<\/strong>\u00a0property of that item.<\/p>\n<h2>Append to array variables<\/h2>\n<p>The next feature that is now available is to append items to array variables &#8211; meaning adding a new value to the end of the list. This is most useful inside an <strong>Apply to each<\/strong>, where you can continue adding new items into the array each time the loop runs. To use this action, you&#8217;ll first need to initialize the array variable outside of the loop. Then, just search for <strong>Append to array variable<\/strong>, and you can choose whatever value you want to add to the end of that list.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/power-platform\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/1220-20Apply-1.png\" style=\"width: 316px; height: 359px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>To see a good example of how this can be useful, read <a href=\"https:\/\/flow.microsoft.com\/blog\/accessing-office-365-security-compliance-center-logs-from-microsoft-flow\/\">Kent&#8217;s blog post from earlier today<\/a> about\u00a0Accessing Office 365 Security &amp; Compliance Center Logs from Microsoft Flow.<\/p>\n<h2>Tago connector<\/h2>\n<p>We have one new connector available this week: <a href=\"https:\/\/flow.microsoft.com\/connectors\/shared_tago\/tago\/\"><strong>Tago<\/strong><\/a>. Tago provides easy connection of electronic devices with external data to drive smarter decisions using contextual analysis.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/power-platform\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/managed-metadata-tago-connector.png\" style=\"width: 338px; height: 307px;\"\/><\/p>\n<h2>Mobile app improvements<\/h2>\n<p>We have updated the Flow app for iOS to be optimized for the iPhone X.
