{"id":5588,"date":"2021-07-08T07:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-07-08T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/power-platform\/blog\/power-automate\/ai-builder-july-2021-update\/"},"modified":"2021-07-08T07:00:00","modified_gmt":"2021-07-08T14:00:00","slug":"ai-builder-july-2021-update","status":"publish","type":"power-automate","link":"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/power-platform\/blog\/power-automate\/ai-builder-july-2021-update\/","title":{"rendered":"AI Builder July 2021 update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are excited to announce the general availability of several AI Builder capabilities, new additions which will improve our document automation capabilities, as well as some language and geographic coverage extensions.<\/p>\n<h2>Scenarios becoming generally available<\/h2>\n<p style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt; font-family: 'Segoe UI',sans-serif; color: #505050;\">Several AI Builder models have graduated out of preview and reached general availability.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt; font-family: 'Segoe UI',sans-serif; color: #505050;\">In past months, we enhanced AI Builder with new capabilities which are now production-ready:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Invoice processing<\/strong> \u2013 Read and save information from invoices which now also include the ability to <strong>extract line items<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5589\" height=\"594\" src=\"https:\/\/powerautomateblogmedia.azureedge.net\/powerautomateblog\/2021\/06\/ai-builder-invoice-processing-line-items.png\" width=\"1016\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/power-platform\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/ai-builder-invoice-processing-line-items.webp 1016w, https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/power-platform\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/ai-builder-invoice-processing-line-items-300x175.webp 300w, https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/power-platform\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/ai-builder-invoice-processing-line-items-768x449.webp 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1016px) 100vw, 1016px\" \/><\/li>\n<li><strong>Receipt processing <\/strong>\u2013 Read and save information from receipts, with support now for sales receipts from Australia, Canada, United States, Great Britain, and India.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Identity document reader<\/strong> \u2013 Read and save information from identity documents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can try out these AI models today directly from the <a href=\"https:\/\/flow.microsoft.com\/manage\/aibuilder\/build\">AI Builder page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Generally available products and services are considered production ready.<br \/>\nBy moving out of preview, these models become premium. You will need an AI Builder license or an active trial to continue using them.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, new features on existing generally available scenarios will now also be production ready.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Train using documents that have different layouts <\/strong>\u2013 This feature was released in public preview last November and allows users to create a unique form processing model that will extract the same information from up to 100 different document layouts.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ability to specify the page to be analyzed <\/strong><em>(available mid July)<\/em> \u2013 Form processing, invoice processing and receipt processing models can now specify a page or page range to be analyzed in the Power Automate action. See <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/azure\/cognitive-services\/text-analytics\/language-support?tabs=sentiment-analysis\">Language support &#8211; Text Analytics Sentiment Analysis<\/a> and for Text Recognition, see\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/ai-builder\/prebuilt-text-recognition#supported-language-format-and-size\">Language Support &#8211; Text recognition<\/a><\/p>\n<p>For text recognition, this also includes some OCR performance improvements. AI Builder leverages Cognitive Services Computer Vision. You can access the list of all languages supported with version 3.2 here &#8211;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/azure\/cognitive-services\/computer-vision\/language-support\">Language support &#8211; Computer Vision<\/a>.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5590\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/powerautomateblogmedia.azureedge.net\/powerautomateblog\/2021\/06\/text-recognition-jp.gif\" width=\"1364\"\/><br \/>\n<u>Coming soon<strong>:<\/strong><\/u> Form processing will support documents from these 73 different languages later this summer including Japanese and Chinese.<\/p>\n<h2>Making it easier to use your form processing model in cloud flows<\/h2>\n<p>One popular scenario that customers are using form processing for is to automate data extraction from documents received by email. Now, after training and publishing a form processing model and selecting <strong>Use model a<\/strong><strong>\u00a0New flow in Power Automate<\/strong>, you will land in an end-to-end functional cloud flow that will process documents from email attachments. You can test the flow right away to see it in action and then tailor it to meet your business needs.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5591\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/powerautomateblogmedia.azureedge.net\/powerautomateblog\/2021\/06\/ai-builder-form-processing-cloud-flow.gif\" width=\"1364\"\/><\/p>\n<h2>Confidence scores and automatic validation in document automation<\/h2>\n<p>The prebuilt end-to-end solution for automating the processing of documents has been updated with new capabilities to enrich and simplify the pipeline.<\/p>\n<p>When the data has been extracted from documents, some <strong>basic validation rules<\/strong> are now executed to check empty or not recognized fields and detect low confidence.<\/p>\n<p>In this case, the documents must be reviewed by a human, the <strong>confidence<\/strong> of each field being now visible in the validation application. Otherwise, the data extracted can be automatically exported to the target system.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5592\" height=\"889\" src=\"https:\/\/powerautomateblogmedia.azureedge.net\/powerautomateblog\/2021\/06\/confidence_scores_in-document_automation.png\" width=\"1580\"\/><\/p>\n<h2>Availability in US GCC, GCC High, and Switzerland<\/h2>\n<p>We have added the support of environments created in the <strong>US government cloud GCC and GCC High<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Support for Switzerland will also be available by mid-July. Customers in these regions can now leverage AI Builder on their current environment without the need to take any action.<\/p>\n<p>They can be assured that their data will be processed in these boundaries.<\/p>\n<p>The list of available scenarios on these new regions can be reviewed in the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/ai-builder\/availability-region\">feature availability by region<\/a> matrix.<\/p>\n<h2>Other enhancements<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>We have improved the export and import reliability of solutions containing models retrained multiple times.<\/li>\n<li>Makers on the tenant\u2019s default environment can now enable AI Builder and Dataverse from the AI Builder home page if missing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We are always working to improve AI Builder to meet your needs.
