The Microsoft Research Academic Research Summit series is a forum to foster meaningful discussion and discussion among the Indian computer science research community and enable collaborations to advance the state of the art and raise the bar on research efforts.
The Academic Research Summit 2020 will focus on the theme of Security.
Microsoft Research (MSR) is organising the fifth edition of the Academic Research Summit, in partnership with the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) India (opens in new tab) and BITS Pilani Goa. The summit will be held on the 30th and 31st of January 2020 at the BITS Goa campus.
The ubiquitous availability of internet access across the world and the exponential growth of connected devices has ushered in a revolutionary information era. While the potential for these capabilities in enabling progress is undisputed, it also brings to the fore issues concerning privacy and security. As the notion of our identity becomes increasingly digital and spans across our personal and professional lives, the threat of this information being compromised also increases manifold.
The Academic Research Summit 2019 is focused on the theme of Security and will address topics concerning digital identity, privacy, fairness, etc. The agenda will include keynotes, talks and other tracks from distinguished researchers from India and across the world including Eric Horvitz (opens in new tab), Peter Druschel (opens in new tab) and others. The range of interests and breadth of technical areas covered will provide a unique experience for attendees.
