2022 Data-driven Optimization Workshop

Optimization is central to most engineering tasks and is crucial for decision making and planning. In the big data era, with massively and constantly produced data, optimization tasks are more and more relying on the guidance and insights from data, thus leading to the new research direction on data-driven optimization. Data-driven optimization raises new opportunities and challenges, and it requires tighter integration of data sampling, machine learning and optimization techniques. Data-driven optimization covers many related topics such as learning-based algorithm design, optimization from samples, combinatorial online learning, learning-based combinatorial optimization, etc. Through this workshop, we wish to bring together researchers and practitioners from diverse areas related to machine learning and optimization to exchange latest research ideas and results, and to enable more research collaborations in this new direction.
