Microsoft Research Lab – India

Microsoft Research India brings together scientists, researchers, and engineers with backgrounds in algorithms, machine learning and AI, systems and socio-technical systems that empower marginalized populations. The lab also includes a Center for Societal impact through Cloud and Artificial Intelligence (SCAI) that focuses on creating, nurturing and deploying technologies that will have large scale impact on society through deep collaborations with academic groups, startups, NGOs and other organizations that share our passion for positively impacting society through technology.

Microsoft Research India seeks to push the frontiers in computer science and allied areas to positively impact people across the world, whether they are researchers exploring technology at the cutting edge or underserved populations looking to benefit from technology. We engage and collaborate not only with colleagues across Microsoft, but also with academia, government, startups, and more. We share our work with the world through publications and open-source software, and actively mentor and support young talent both at the lab and beyond.

Seeking researcher, post-doctoral, research software development engineers, and intern candidates

A research position at Microsoft Research India offers an opportunity to be at the forefront of computer science research and technology development, and work with world-class research colleagues on meaningful research problems. Our researchers and engineers have a unique opportunity to collaborate with Microsoft’s product groups and influence products used by billions of users, and catalyze the design of new products.  Post-doctoral researchers are hired for a one or two-year fixed-term appointment. They have the opportunity to work closely with our researchers and to collaborate with product groups. Interns are able to work on real-world research problems and contribute to our research while building connections and networks that add tremendous value to their careers.
