Ali Alvi is the Group Program Manager for Microsoft Turing team which is a cross-company Deep Learning/AI initiative. We are developing and productizing high ambition deep learning capabilities across Microsoft’s suite of products (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Bing, Dynamics, Maps, etc.). Areas of his focus include QnA over unstructured and semi structured data, Relevance models for Search, Machine Reading Comprehension, Natural Language Representation, Natural Language Generation, Document and Query Representation through Vector Space Embeddings, Dialog & Conversational AI and Multi-modal AI models. Previously, He was a leader on the team that introduced Microsoft’s first ever wearable – Microsoft Band, leading the application, experiences and developer platform for Microsoft Band and Health.
Ali has a Bachelors in Computer Science from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) with minors in Mathematics and Economics. Ali has been at Microsoft since 2001.
