À propos
I’m a Senior Research Software Engineer on the Research at Redmond Data Science team, where I tackle challenging data science and machine learning engineering problems to accelerate the progress of ambitious projects in the lab. I’m passionate about using my engineering skills to build cloud infrastructure for the end-to-end process of machine learning applications, ranging from data collection to the final assessment of trained models.
I joined Microsoft in 2021, and since then I have been designing and developing workflows for data collection and data wrangling aimed at training and evaluating large language models.
Before Microsoft, I was a Research Staff Member at IBM. I earned my PhD at the Engineering Cybernetics department of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in 2016. During my education I conducted applied research in control engineering and optimization in the physics-AI domain, particularly on how to train AI models to emulate traditional simulators, and on how to simultaneously simulate and optimize industrial processes. I enjoy witnessing modeling, control, and optimization in varied application domains.
In my free time I enjoy swimming, either in a pool or in the ocean. I also like hiking. I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, and at the same enjoy my time by the ocean and the rainforest in Brazil, while working remotely.
