Ashvin is a researcher at Gray Systems Lab, with a focus on making complex distributed systems efficient and easy to use. His research interests include data provenance, big-data and streaming technologies.

Ashvin started his career working on WiFi Security Systems and Software-as-a-Service at Mojo Networks (acquired by Arista). Later he worked on cloud computing, content management and self-serving systems at Yahoo. Prior to Microsoft he was developing in-memory data management platforms and big-data technologies at VMware/Pivotal. Ashvin received a Masters in Computer Science from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK).

Ashvin is a multi-sport enthusiast; he enjoys playing badminton, volleyball, swimming and running.
