关于

I am a Senior Applied Scientist in the Office of Applied Research led by Jaime Teevan.

My research lies at the intersection of Information Retrieval and Human Computer Interaction. I am a mixed-methods researcher and I am interested in improving human-facing intelligent systems by triangulating both quantitative data analysis as well as qualitative human factors.  I have worked in different domains including Web search, email management, collaborative writing and more generally Future of Work and Productivity.

At the Office of Applied Research my work is primarily focused on leveraging artifacts of human goals in order to build intelligent experiences in Microsoft products that support users with their goals and help them to be more productive.

Before joining Microsoft, I studied at the University of Waterloo, where I earned my Doctorate degree. My PhD research focused on Characterizing and Supporting Exploratory Search Tasks through Alternative Representations of Information.

During the course of my PhD I have collaborated with the Knowledge Technologies and Intelligent Experiences and Language and Information Technologies groups at Microsoft Research as well as MSAI team at Microsoft.
