Erik Uri is a Software Engineer at Microsoft, currently working on AI infrastructure and distributed systems problems for Microsoft MAIA AI Accelerators (opens in new tab) in AI Frameworks under the Azure AI Platform org.
Previously, Erik contributed to Azure Spatial Anchors (opens in new tab), a key service for the HoloLens 2 (opens in new tab) allowing collaborative multiuser AR experiences through real-time spatial mapping and environmental understanding as part of the Environmental Understanding team in the Mixed Reality org. Erik is also a contributor to open source in the Mixed Reality space, include projects such as OpenXR Toolkit and OpenComposite, mostly relating to eye tracking and foveated rendering.
Erik is pursuing his master’s degree at the University of Washington, with studies focusing on Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing.
