Luiz Belussi

Luiz Belussi is a Software Engineering Lead within the Microsoft Research Maluuba lab, located in Montréal, Canada.

His work is focused on natural language dialogue systems and their application to real-world scenarios at scale. With his team, they develop a full dialogue pipeline applicable to embedded systems: from language understanding to state tracking and policy management up to natural language generation.

Prior to joining Maluuba, Luiz earned an MSc degree in Computer Science in the field of Computer Vision from the University of São Paulo and a BSc in Computer Engineering at the University of Campinas. He has also worked as an IT infrastructure team lead.

Luiz’s research and professional interests include deep learning applied to language and computer vision problems.
