À propos
Philippe is a Senior Researcher in the AI Interaction and Learning (AIIL (opens in new tab)) group at MSR, based in New York City. His research is at the intersection of NLP (Natural Language Processing) and HCI (Human-Computer Interaction). On the NLP side, Philippe enjoys projects that involve text summarization, simplification, with a focus on factuality (detecting/mitigating LLM’s «hallucination»). In turn, he applies LLM methods to build AI-based reading and writing interfaces, with an objective to better understand how to empower users to consume and produce text.
Before joining MSR, Philippe was a researcher at Salesforce Research (New York), which he joined after completing a Ph.D. in Computer Science at UC Berkeley, advised by Marti Hearst (opens in new tab) and John Canny (opens in new tab).
