Tim Deegan is a research software engineer in the Systems and Networking group at Microsoft Research Cambridge. His interests are in high-speed storage design and operating systems. He currently works on Silica (opens in new tab), developing systems software to support the optical instruments and to process data.
Tim has a PhD from the University of Cambridge (opens in new tab). He spent nine years on the core development team of the Xen hypervisor (opens in new tab), working on virtual memory systems and hardware emulation. More recently he worked at Coho Data, on a filesystem for a clustered all-flash storage array.
