关于

I am a senior researcher at Microsoft. I am also an affiliate professor at the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Washington (opens in new tab).

I am interested in developing systematic design strategies for the de novo construction of molecular machines. To do so, I am employing methods from DNA nanotechnology, a field that uses DNA as an engineering material. My current research focuses on creating an end-to-end DNA Storage (opens in new tab) system and DNA computing. I am also interested in applying DNA nanotechnology to therapeutics.

I received my PhD in Electrical Engineering from University of Washington in 2015, and I am an alumni of the University of Washington’s Seelig Lab (opens in new tab).  My PhD project was a collaboration between the biological computation research group at MSR Cambridge and Caltech. I came to Microsoft Research as a postdoc in 2015 and became a researcher in the DNA storage group in 2017.
