After fierce competition, 12 outstanding PhD students from the Asia-Pacific region were finally awarded the “Microsoft Research Asia Fellow” in 2022, and another 21 PhD students were nominated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2022 Microsoft Research Asia Fellowship<\/a> program attracted nearly two hundreds outstanding applicants from leading research universities and institutions in the Asia-Pacific region in the fields of computational science, hardware and software systems, human and machine intelligence, and perception, recognition and interaction. The laureates have a broad vision, a commitment to worthwhile scientific work, and an expectation that their research will bring tangible social value and benefit to the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Microsoft Research Asia Fellowship is a program launched by Microsoft Research Asia in 1999 for outstanding junior PhD students in computer science related areas and cross-disciplines in the Asia Pacific region. The fellowship program aims to identify, encourage and empower outstanding and promising junior PhD students to better conduct their research work. As of 2022, more than four hundred outstanding doctoral students have been awarded the title of “Microsoft Research Asia Fellow”. Many of these fellows have become the pillars or shining stars of the academic community, and many of them have become the leaders of the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
