The Autism at Work Research Workshop<\/strong> brings together leading scholars, employers, clinicians, service providers, entrepreneurs, caregivers, and autism advocates concerned with autism employment. Their work may relate to the preparation, recruitment, persistence, advancement, and management of autistic individuals in the workplace. Our objectives are to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Workshop co-chairs:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Please register (opens in new tab)<\/span><\/a>for Day 1 of the workshop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n A registration link for Days 2 and 3 of the workshop will be sent to those researchers that submit papers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Note: there will be a fee to attend each day of the workshop. The fee for Day 1 is USD $25. The fee for Days 2 and 3 (combined) is USD $150.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n The workshop will run over three days, each with its own agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Day 1: The State of Autism Employment Research <\/strong>(Open to all)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Day 1 will feature a review of the state of autism employment research, its history, and the history of this workshop; a set of talks from established academic centers of autism research to talk about their key initiatives and how they leverage research to impact the community; and opportunities to discuss these ideas in groups with other workshop attendees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Presentations from Centers of Autism Research<\/p> Day 2: The Benefits and Challenges of Doing Research in Autism and Employment<\/strong> (Open to autism researchers only)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Day 2 will include a set of conversations about the challenges of doing research in autism and employment, including <\/p>\n\n\n\n Day 3: Research Presentations<\/strong> (Open to autism researchers only)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Day 3 will include a set of research paper presentations and breakouts to help individual researchers socialize their project ideas and get feedback from the community. We especially encourage solo (i.e., those in academic environments that are not focused on autism and\/or employment) and junior researchers interested in these topics to attend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Presentations will be 5 minutes each and will be followed by a 3 minute Q&A period. 4 or 5 papers will be presented in each 40-50 minute session. <\/p>\n\n\n\nRequirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
