The group was managed by David Lomet and subsequently by Donald Kossmann. In 2020, the Database Group merged with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/research\/group\/data-management-exploration-and-mining-dmx\">Data Management, Mining and Exploration (DMX) Group<\/a>, forming the current <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/research\/group\/datasystems\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Data Systems Group<\/a>. The Data Systems group is managed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/research\/people\/surajitc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Surajit Chaudhuri<\/a>.
