Although datacenters dedicated for cloud computing
\nservices are becoming increasingly prevalent, the current
\ndatacenter network security architecture is poorly suited
\nfor this application. Policy enforcement is smeared between
\nthe network and end hosts, increasing cost and
\ncomplexity while reducing flexibility and security. Enforcement
\nis typically done at network chokepoints,
\nwhich inherently see high traffic levels from aggregate
\ntraffic; packet filters and deep packet inspection engines
\nthat can operate at these data rates require expensive, custom
