Carrier sensing is a key mechanism that enables decentralized sharing
\nof unlicensed spectrum. However, carrier sensing in its current form
\nis fundamentally unsuitable when devices transmit at different power
\nlevels, a scenario increasingly common given the diversity of Wi-Fi
\nAPs in the market and the need for Wi-Fi’s co-existence with new
\nupcoming standards such as LAA\/LWA.\u00a0 The primary contribution of this
\npaper is a novel carrier sensing mechanism — skip correlation — that
\nextends carrier sensing to accommodate multiple transmit power levels.
\nThrough an FPGA based implementation on the WARP platform, we
\ndemonstrate the effectiveness of our technique in a variety of
