Your computer is up to date when you’ve installed the latest updates for\u00a0Windows\u00a0and for your computer programs. To get updates for\u00a0Windows\u00a0and other Microsoft programs at the same time, including updates for Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and more), go to the\u00a0Microsoft Update\u00a0website.<\/p>\n
If you’re already using\u00a0Microsoft\u00a0Update, which works with\u00a0Windows\u00a0automatic updating,\u00a0Windows\u00a0Update in the Control Panel will automatically open and display your update status.<\/p>\n
Turn on automatic updating<\/b><\/p>\n
To help ensure that you get your updates automatically, click Change settings<\/b>. Under Important updates<\/b> choose Install updates automatically (recommended)<\/b>.<\/p>\n
