The Service Pack\u00a0is available for download on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/download\/details.aspx?id=49996\">Microsoft Download Center<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/msdn.microsoft.com\/subscriptions\/securedownloads\/\">MSDN,<\/a> MBS\/Partner Source and VLSC. As part of our continued commitment to software excellence for our customers, this upgrade is available to all customers with existing SQL Server 2012 deployments.<\/p>\n<p>SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 3 provides additional updates to help workloads from a performance, scalability and monitoring perspective. Key updates include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Scalability and performance improvements for the storage engine<\/li>\n<li>Improvements in consistency check performance<\/li>\n<li>Query hints to provide granular control while using Resource Governor<\/li>\n<li>Additional monitoring capabilities through enhancements in DMV, Extended Events and Query Plans<\/li>\n<li>Improved performance while opening and reading XEL files using XEvent Linq reader<\/li>\n<li>Improved performance for spatial queries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>SP3 contains Hotfix solutions provided in SQL Server 2012 cumulative updates up to and including Cumulative Update 9.<\/p>\n<p>Find more information on\u00a0SQL Server 2012 SP3 <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/kb\/3072779\">here<\/a>.
