There are only a two days left until the New Year, which means your last chance to submit a #SQLFamily story and contribute to the <\/span>Pragmatic Works Foundation<\/span><\/a> drive is fast approaching. All submissions are due by December 31st<\/sup>, 2011 at 11:59pm PST, and there is still an opportunity to help us reach our goal of $20,000 in donations.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI recently made the very difficult decision to move from my long-time home in Phoenix, Arizona, up to Bellevue, Washington. I\u2019m near the Microsoft campus now, and I\u2019ve already had the chance to participate in some spectacular training events I wouldn\u2019t have otherwise been able to attend. But here\u2019s why our #SQLFamily is so awesome: from the moment I mentioned on Twitter that I planned on moving to Washington, the SQL Server community here welcomed me.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

What is #SQLFamily?<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cSQL Family is needing 30 minutes to walk the 150 yards from the hotel entrance to the elevators because I keep bumping into people that I know. It\u2019s knowing that I\u2019ll never ride the escalator without passing a few friends going the other way. It\u2019s the assurance that I\u2019ll never again be that guy in the hotel room at 9pm wishing I was still engaged in the event.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
