In the world of healthcare, clarity isn’t a luxury—it’s a lifeline. Every day, millions of people grapple with confusing medical reports, uncertain symptoms, and complex prescriptions as part of their efforts to manage their health. The answers they seek are often hidden behind long queues, jargon and acronym filled documents, and challenging systems. August AI wants to change that experience for every patient, and they’re utilizing the access provided by Microsoft for Startups to do it.

Leveraging WhatsApp infrastructure, August AI has built an innovative personal health companion that is free, instant, and always on stand by to help when needed, 24 hours a day. Whether you’re trying to make sense of your lab report, having trouble understanding a medication dosage, or feeling unwell late at night, August AI is there for you—an engaging AI helper with the intelligence of a doctor.

The idea for August began in 2022, following a situation where Anuruddh Mishra, August AI founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), went through a painful four-month misdiagnosis for rheumatoid arthritis. Despite having access to doctors, lab tests, and second opinions, finding his way back to a healthy existence remained out of reach. It wasn’t until he took his own deep dive into reports and symptoms to uncover the real issue: a simple nutritional imbalance. The system wasn’t designed to provide the patient-focused information he needed—even though the information was there. That’s what inspired August AI.
