Colin<\/strong>: Let\u2019s start out on the topic of valuation. It\u2019s one of the most contentious issues when founders are fundraising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Obviously, nobody wants to raise money at a low valuation, since they\u2019ll be giving up more equity than they need to. But accepting funding at too high of a valuation can also be problematic and affect future funding rounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019d love to hear your observations and how you assess companies when it comes to valuation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andrea<\/strong>: Early-stage valuation is much more art than science. Often with little or no revenue, valuation is about what an investor is prepared to pay, based on their perceived potential value of a company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
