Microsoft Teams on mobile devices can understand customers\u2019 preferred languages and how customers like to interact with their contacts. When collaborators are chatting in different languages, the intelligent message translation feature uses their account preferences to inform the user when they would benefit from translation, and then personalizes chat translation behavior.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft Teams for iOS &amp; Android mobile devices introduces <em><a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/office\/translate-a-message-in-teams-d8926ce9-d6a6-47df-a416-f1adb62d3194#ID0EDD=Mobile\"><strong>intelligent message translation in chats<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0<\/em>When a user receives a chat message in a language they don\u2019t understand, Teams informs them with a prompt to translate the chat message into the user&#8217;s preferred language. The user can also personalize their chat translation behavior by turning on <em>automatic translation<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>How does it work?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>When you receive a chat message in an unfamiliar language, Teams will prompt you with the option to translate it to your preferred language.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-9617 \" src=\"https://www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/translator/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2022\/10\/Teams-mobile-translate_never-translate_Swetha-1014x1024.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"630\" height=\"636\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tap\u00a0<strong>Translate <\/strong>to translate the message.<\/p>\n<p>Tap <strong>Never translate (language) <\/strong>if you don\u2019t need translation for the language. Teams will stop showing you translations for that language and the language will be added to the Never translate list in Teams mobile. You can make edits to your language preferences in Teams by tapping your profile, select <strong>Settings, <\/strong>under <strong>General, <\/strong>select<strong> Translation<\/strong>. By default, your translation language will be set to your Teams language.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to change your default language:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Tap your profile picture in Teams.<\/li>\n<li>Tap\u00a0<strong>Settings<\/strong>. under <strong>General<\/strong>, select\u00a0<strong>Translation<\/strong>.
