At <a href=\"http:\/\/www.intel.com\/idf\/us\/fall2006\/index.htm\">Intel Developer Forum<\/a> this week, Intel is showing off its forthcoming <a>&#8220;Clovertown&#8221; quad-core processor <\/a>for servers.\u00a0Catch <a href=\"http:\/\/www.podtech.net\/home\/technology\/1139\/idf-preview-quad-core-microprocessors\">Intel&#8217;s podcast<\/a> previewing its announcement of the quad-cores.<\/p>\n<p>Today at IDF\u00a0we participated in a personal supercomputing demo that used the &#8220;Clovertown&#8221; processors within\u00a0Tyan Compter&#8217;s Typhoon system, running Windows CCS, along with\u00a0Mellanox Infiniband interconnect and Wolfram&#8217;s gridMathematica. I&#8217;m told that this is the first ever HPC cluster demo using quad-core processors. Earlier this week <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tyan.com\/html\/pr06_idf_fall.html\">Tyan Computer announced <\/a>some details of the demo.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.intel.com\/pressroom\/kits\/bios\/pawlowski.htm\">Stephen S. Pawlowski<\/a>, a senior fellow and CTO at Intel, gave the demo.
