(the demo is showing the Windows Phone version of Animals Fun)
Do you have young kid(s) who wants to learn how to read in French? Do you have to wait often with your kid(s) before an activity, or just want to have fun with your kid(s)?
If so, Animals Fun in French might be for you...
This application exposes kids to simple words and sentences in French while having fun and beeing active. This application has different scenes and stations (such as a pool, a dance floor, a spinning wheel, etc.) where kids can drag animals. When an animal is dropped in one of the stations, it animates itself based on where it is (swim, dance, spin, etc.) and a corresponding sentence is shown at the bottom of the scene (such as "Le chien nage." if the dog has been dropped in the pool). At the same time the sentence can be heard out loud in French, with the current word pronounced turning from an initial red color to a final blue color, so the kid can follow. With this approach, the kid can be exposed to the sound of the words, their spelling, and simple sentence structures in context of their actions while having fun with animals. The kid can also tap on any of the words in the sentence currently displayed to hear a specific word again. This version has been created for English speaking kids who want to learn French, so the user interface is in English.
