Anibal Yusem
Audio Design Engineer (Alum)
Anibal Yusem is an audio design engineer in Microsoft’s Applied Sciences Group (ASG). He has been working in professional audio for more than 35 years and joined Microsoft in 2012.
Born and raised in Rosario, Argentina, he began to assemble amplifiers and speakers as a teenager while attending technical school in his home town. Later he graduated from the National University of Rosario with a B.S. in electronic engineering where his thesis was on the design and construction of a real-time spectrum analyzer for audio frequencies (1984).
After graduation Anibal started a series of companies and provided consulting in professional audio. During this time he built and installed hundreds of professional audio systems for discos, cinemas, churches, stadiums, etc.
In 2002 he attended the NAMM show in Los Angeles and was offered a position to work for QSC Audio Products designing power amps and self-powered speakers. He worked for QSC from 2002 to 2007 when RODE/Event Electronics hired him to design Studio Monitors. Working between Seattle and Australia, he developed the “Opal”, a high-end studio monitor that won several awards.
Anibal describes audio as not only a job, but his hobby and his passion. He has his own lab in his garage where he spends as much time as he can designing and building high-end analogue equipment.
