M1205263 Ecodesign Requirements for Cloud Hardware – Outlines Ecodesign requirements for Microsoft cloud server platforms and sub-assemblies throughout the product lifecycle. The specification defines environmental design requirements and incorporates applicable legal obligations and recommended design practices to support the development of environmentally responsible products and minimize environmental impact. Requirements cover energy efficiency, substances management, preferable material use, sustainable packaging, design for repair, reuse and recycling, and product longevity.

It details the protocols and requirements for maintaining, updating, and managing documentation related to Microsoft Devices hardware products and packaging, ensuring that all records comply with company standards and global regulations.

Data Collection Materials
Microsoft Compliance Data Collection (MSCDC) forms and guidance documents can be downloaded here.
Microsoft Compliance Data Collection (MSCDC) Hardware Template – The MSCDC template is based on the IPC 1752 Class A and D schema and is used to collect and report data on the material composition and production processes of hardware components. This data includes material and substance weight, REACH and SCIP information, and recycled content of the hardware. The template is designed to be comprehensive and user-friendly, allowing suppliers to provide all necessary information in a standardized format.
If IPC 1752 Class A and D schema is not available, please reach out to Microsoft for the template based on the IPC 1752 Class A and C schema to submit statements of conformance and relative material information on RoHS, REACH and PFAS statements.
MSCDC Packaging Template – Similar to the Hardware template, MSCDC Packaging allows the supplier to submit material data, as well as information on recycled content, non-wood bio-based content, and FSC Certifications.
