Microsoft Premier Support End of Sale Timeline

Commercial customers:

As of July 1, 2021, Microsoft no longer offers Premier Support agreements for new commercial customers or commercial customers that have transitioned to Microsoft Unified.
As of July 1, 2022, Microsoft no longer offers Premier Support agreements for renewing commercial customers.

Public sector customers:

As of July 1, 2021, Microsoft no longer offers Premier Support agreements for public sector customers that have transitioned to Unified.
As of July 1, 2023, Microsoft no longer offers Premier Support agreements for new public sector customers.
As of July 1, 2024, Microsoft no longer offers Premier Support agreements for renewing public sector customers.

Public sector customers include National, Federal, State and Local Government (SLG), State-owned Enterprises (SOE), and Education (EDU).

Out of scope:

The Premier Support for Partners (PSfP) offer will remain in market.

Premier Support for Partners (PSfP) Thru Direct

PSfP Thru Direct will be retired at a country level according to the following timeline:

  • October 1, 2023: Indonesia, Israel, Korea, Kuwait, Portugal, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates.
  • January 1, 2024: Bahrain, China, Egypt, France, Hong Kong, India, Poland, Romania, Macau, Malaysia, Morocco, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam.
  • April 15, 2024: Czechia (commercial customers only)
  • July 1, 2024: All remaining markets worldwide will be retired and there will be no additional sales of PSfP Thru Direct.

All existing PSfP Thru Direct agreements will be honored for the term of service documented in the PSfP Thru Direct agreement.

To continue Microsoft support services, customers can purchase a Unified Enterprise agreement from an approved Partner Broker or acquire PSfP Thru with separate schedules for individual end customers.   • Please contact your Microsoft account team to develop a plan for your transition to Unified. As of July 1, 2022, existing commercial customers can no longer renew their Premier Support agreements. As of July 1, 2024 existing public sector customers can no longer renew their Premier Support agreements. The Premier Support for Partners (PSfP) offer will remain in market. PSfP Thru Direct will be gradually retired as it is replaced by the Unified Broker program.

     

  • Unified is the recommended enterprise support offering for new customers.

    Microsoft’s legacy offer, Premier Support, is being retired for all audiences:

    • Commercial: As of July 1, 2021, new commercial customers no longer have the option to purchase a Premier Support agreement
    • Public Sector: As of July 1, 2023, new public sector customers no longer have the option to purchase a Premier Support agreement
