Position: Intern – Microsoft Research AI for Science (Bioinformatics Analysis)

Team Introduction:
Microsoft Research AI for Science was founded in 2022, with a mission to drive new fundamental research advancements at the intersection of artificial intelligence and natural sciences. The goal is to transform the way humanity understands and shapes the world, while bringing disruptive innovations to industries such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, materials, and energy. As a rapidly growing global team, the team have members located in China, the UK, the US, the Netherlands, and Germany, it encompasses world-class experts from diverse disciplines such as machine learning, computational physics, computational chemistry, molecular biology, software engineering, and others.
Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in interdisciplinary research projects involving machine learning and natural sciences.
- Develop evaluation criteria for machine learning models.
- Construct data for scientific research problems.
Requirements:
- Solid background knowledge in one of the following fields: bioinformatics, biology, drug development, protein, DNA/RNA. Any one of these areas is acceptable (candidates with a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree are welcome).
- Proficiency in Python and commonly used packages.
- Familiarity with quantitative analysis tools in the field.
- Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to modify code and add functionalities to scientific software.
- Familiarity with molecular docking, FEP, molecular dynamics simulations, and experience in drug development.
- Publication experience or participation in ACM or other programming competitions.
- Knowledge of and experience with common deep learning models, such as GNN-based and Transformer-based models
Able to obtain supervisor’s permission and commit to a full-time internship for at least six months. Immediate availability is preferred.

任职要求
- 具有生物信息、生物、药物研发、蛋白、DNA/RNA任一方向扎实的背景知识。具备其一即可。（本硕博均可）
- 熟悉python语言及常用工具包
- 熟悉本领域的定量分析工具
- 良好的解决问题能力、团队合作能力和沟通能力
加分项
- 能够基于某一科学软件改code, 添加功能的能力
- 熟悉分子对接、FEP、分子动力学模拟，有过药物研发相关工作经验。
- 论文发表或ACM或其他编程比赛经历
- 了解常见的深度学习模型，如GNN-based, Transformer-based的模型，有使用经验
工作时间要求
能获得导师许可并全职实习半年以上，近期可入职者优先。
