About
Gagan Bansal (he/him) is researcher at Microsoft Research where he conducts interdisciplinary research on Artificial Intelligence and Human-Computer Interaction. Within Microsoft Research, he is currently part of the Human-AI eXperiences Team (HAX) and AutoGen Team. Prior to joining MSR in 2022, he graduated with a Ph.D in Computer Science from University of Washington, Seattle where he was advised by Dan Weld and was a part of the UW Lab for Human-AI Interaction. At Microsoft, he has played key roles in multiple agentic projects. He helped create
- AutoGen, a widely used open-source framework for developing multi-agent applications
- AutoGen Studio, a popular low-code tool for creating agentic workflows

- He recently also published a set of challenges for human-agent communication
