Gagan Somashekar

About

I am a senior researcher in the AIOps team of the M365 Research Group (opens in new tab) at Microsoft, where I focus on using AI to improve systems performance and developer productivity. Before joining Microsoft, I earned my PhD in Computer Science from Stony Brook University, New York, under the guidance of Prof. Anshul Gandhi (opens in new tab). My doctoral thesis focused on performance management of large-scale microservices applications (opens in new tab). During my PhD, I interned at Microsoft Research India, Meta, and Google, working on projects that optimized cloud services, machine learning inference, and networking infrastructure monitoring, respectively.
