About
Liang Du is a Director of Applied Science on the AI Architecture and Strategy team at Microsoft, in the AI&R division. Prior to Project S, he worked as an applied scientist and scientist manager in the area of ambient computing. The research and technologies have led to multiple applications including workspace safety (opens in new tab).
He earned his PhD degree from Temple University under the supervision of Prof. Haibin Ling (opens in new tab), focusing on computer vision and machine learning. Before that, he received BS degree from Wuhan University and MS degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
His current research focuses on transforming business and enterprise applications through advancing and applying research in artificial intelligence.
