About
I am a Senior Researcher in the Data Systems Group (opens in new tab) at Microsoft Research Redmond (opens in new tab). My primary research interest is making data systems more performant, less expensive, and easier to use, particularly in cloud computing environments.
Prior to MSR, I completed my PhD in the MIT Data Systems Group (opens in new tab) advised by Sam Madden (opens in new tab) where I worked on making cloud analytical databases more elastic and easier to use. You can find more about my work at my personal website (opens in new tab).
Before MIT, I earned a M.S. in Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University (opens in new tab) where I worked with Andy Pavlo (opens in new tab).
