About

I am a Data and Applied Scientist at Microsoft AI for Good Research Lab (opens in new tab) at Redmond, WA.

I work on various machine learning problems with positive impact on environment and society. My current research interests include computer vision with satellite imagery data, natural language processing, bioacoustic signal processing, machine learning for health  etc. I have been leading and contributing to different projects related to gender equality, forest mapping, disaster management etc.

Before Joining Microsoft, I received my PhD in Electrical Engineering from University of Southern California (USC) (opens in new tab) in 2019. I was a part of Signal Analysis and Interpretation Laboratory (SAIL) (opens in new tab) and  (opens in new tab)Signal Processing for Communication Understanding and Behavior Analysis (SCUBA) (opens in new tab), jointly advised by Prof. Shri Narayanan (opens in new tab) and Prof. Panos Georgiou (opens in new tab). My doctoral research mainly focused on modeling interaction dynamics in speech and language human conversations and its application in mental health domain.
