About
Matheus Mendonça is a Research Software Engineer in the Research at Redmond Data Science team at Microsoft Research. Previously, he worked as a data scientist at a healthcare company in Brazil, where he was responsible for developing multiple deep learning models for medical image analysis, and then deploying them in multiple hospitals. He has a doctorate in Computational Modeling by the National Laboratory for Scientific Computing, Brazil, where he developed a deep learning model that aims to maximize information diffusion in time-varying graphs using graph embedding and reinforcement learning. He also has a master’s degree in Computer Science by the Federal University of Juiz de Fora, Brazil, where he applied reinforcement learning to stealth games. His main areas of interest are: deep learning, reinforcement learning, network science, AI in gaming, and responsible AI.
