About

I am a Principal Research Manager at Microsoft in Redmond. My research is centered around Computer Vision and Deep Learning, with a focus on large-scale custom vision, edge video analytics and custom detection for aerial imaging. I received a PhD from University of California, Los Angeles, in June 2017 under the supervision of Prof. Stefano Soatto and joined Microsoft right after graduation. My PhD research includes large-scale computer vision, deep learning, graphical models and reinforcement learning. While in grad school, I lead the development of a visual search algorithm for fashion items at my startup. I am currently leading the development of AI algorithms for Microsoft products and services, such as Custom Vision, Computer Vision for Aerial Imaging, Edge Video Analytics and Geospatial Foundation Models.
